Worship in the Greatest Sanctuary!
The Galilean Service meets from 7:30 a.m. – 8:20 a.m. Sundays from Mother’s Day to the Sunday before Labor Day at Gulf State Park Pavilion.
Since 1951, from Mother’s Day to the Sunday before Labor Day, Foley United Methodist Church has held a service on the sand for our members and our vacationing guests. A cross on a sand dune welcomes worshippers from around the country to a beautiful and unique service on the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico.
The first beach service was held May 20, 1951, under the leadership of the Rev. Robert Hagood, of the Foley Methodist Church. This summer, join us as we worship the Lord together by the sea, under the sky, among the dunes, in the freshness of the morning. People who attend come from all parts of the country as well as from overseas. Many return season after season to worship the Lord by the ocean. We routinely have speakers from other denominations bringing the message and we welcome everyone who would like to worship God in this setting.
