Our short term studies at Foley United Methodist Church are great places to explore faith, ask questions, study the Bible, and develop life-giving friendships with others. Groups meet weekly at various times and locations around Foley (either at the church or in someone's home). Whether you've been at Foley UMC for years or it's your first time at church, this is a fantastic way to get connected.

Reader's Guide to the Bible by George Guthrie (Bible in a year study). Books covered during this term: Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, 1, 2 Samuel, 1, 2 Chronicles, 1, 2 Kings and Judges. This study uses the Reader’s Guide to the Bible by George Guthrie and videos from the Bible Project. The Bible presents the greatest story ever told--the story of God’s loving persistent plan to redeem sinful people through His Son. Open Mind, Open Heart by Thomas Keating is about a movement of divine love designed to renew the Christian contemplative tradition of centering prayer. This class will meet on Tuesday mornings at 9:30. Johanna Habisreitinger is leading the class and her email is email@example.com. This study begins January 15.
The Story by Max Lucado began in the fall and will continue to meet. In this study, you will see how God goes to great lengths to rescue lost and hurting people. That is what The Story is all about: the story of the Bible, God’s great love affair with humanity. Condensed into 31 accessible chapters, The Story sweeps you into the unfolding progression of Bible characters and events from Genesis to Revelation. The Call by Adam Hamilton. Follow the journeys of Paul, beginning with his dramatic conversion, as he spread the Gospel through modern-day Greece and Turkey. Travel to the early church sites and explore Paul’s conversations with the Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Thessalonians. In this six-week study, you are invited to experience faith through Christ’s greatest teacher and missionary. Taught by Terry Collings the class will meet every Wednesday at 5:30 pm in the Church Library. This is a new 6 week short term study. The contact is Terry Collings and her email is email@example.com. The men’s ministry has a group that meets each week. Anyone can join at any time. This group meets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays in Room 114 in the Spirit Center.
