Join us this Wednesday, September 15th, for our dinner and program. The menu will be barbeque sandwiches, coleslaw and dessert. Our guest speaker will be Jeff Rouzie. The suggested donation for dinner is $5 per adult, $3 per student, with a total family cost of $13. Dinner begins at 5:15. Blue Lake Methodist Assembly is offering a weekend retreat called Energize 2010: Facedown October 1st – 3rd for Jr. & Sr. High students grades 6th – 12th. Check in is Friday from 6:30p.m. -8:00 p.m., check out is 10:30 am on Sunday, and the cost is $100. This is a fall retreat to help youth focus on inward devotion and worship. Anyone interested can contact Paula at the church office for registration forms.

An exciting fund raiser is scheduled for Sunday, October 3rd from 3-6 p.m. in the Spirit Center. We are having a Gold Party! You bring any old, unwanted, broken, or mix-matched gold and get PAID for it. Over and above what you receive, the church gets an additional 15% and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society gets 3%. This is a come and go event, which means you can drop by anytime between 3 and 6 p.m. Please mark you calendar for this fun event

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 13th from 2:00 – 6:00 pm for our Fall Festival on the grounds of the Spirit Center. Pam Baker, president of the Foley United Methodist Women, and Richard and Wyatt Arp are delivering school supplies to Danielle Logan, assistant principle at Foley Elementary. The supplies were donated by members of Foley United Methodist Church.

The Ruth Circle will host a meeting on immigration Thursday, Sept 16 at 2 p.m. in the Questors Sunday School Classroom. The guest speaker will be Martha Rovira , Coordinator of Hispanic/Latino Ministries, Alabama-West Florida Conference. Monday, August 16th is the first day of school, and that means that the weekly Wednesday night FUMC Youth will start again on Wednesday, August 18th. As our new school year begins, we want any and all youth in grades 6th – 12th to come and join us on Wednesday evenings. Any adults who have a passion (and patience) to help our youth department, please call Paula at the church office and let us know of your interest and ways you might like to help.

This Wednesday Night Supper (Sept. 8th) is a special “Farewell Fellowship” for Dr. Moore as he begins his time of leave. The menu will be a chicken casserole, potato casserole, lima beans and a delicious desert. If anyone doesn’t like to drive at night and needs transportation to the event, please call the church office. The suggested donation for dinner is $5 per adult, $3 per student, with a total family cost of $13. Dinner begins at 5:15. We expect a large crowd and need to plan our food preparation accordingly.
