The Weaver
My life is but a weaving between my Lord and me,
I cannot choose the colors He worketh steadily.
Off times He weaveth sorrow, and I in foolish pride
Forget he sees the upper and I, the underside
Not till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly
Shall God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful in the weavers skillful hands
As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.

The Foley United Methodist Church Prayer Shawl Ministry means to bring comfort to you, the wearer, and an awareness of God’s presence in your daily life. God knows your deepest needs and you can trust His promise to sustain you. The person who made your shawl prayed while they were making your shawl. That person may or may not have known you name or your circumstance. Their prayer was that this shawl or cover would bring you God’s comfort. Whether in times of distress or moments of joy, let you prayer shawl be a reminder that God loves you. Remember when it rests on your body that you are covered in prayer. Wear it for its beauty, for warmth, for its solace, for comfort in prayer. This gift is offered to you in God’s love.
