Art Show April 14th, 2012

ART SHOW AT FOLEY UNITED MEHODIST CHURCH—Art students from Beverly McNair’s art class students will display their oil paintings at an Art Show in the Spirit Center’s Grand Hall on Saturday, April 14 from 3 to 6 p.m. Cookies and punch will be served. Beverly’s painting will be raffled off that day so if you haven’t purchased your ticket you have time before someone else wins the painting.

Join us in the Spirit Center on April 8th, for a joyous celebration with Easter lilies, Easter banners, Sanctuary Choir, Praise Band Hand-bell Choir and voices of Christians joining with a united purpose of sharing the news that the prophecy has been fulfilled. He was Crucified for our sins. He arose from the dead. He lives and He sends us out into the world to share the good news: Jesus Christ is alive and he lives within our hearts.

Maundy Thursday Service 2012

April 5, 2012 – Maundy Thursday Worship Service will be held in the Spirit Center at 6:30 pm with an interesting and worshipful portrayal of Leonardo de Vinci’s “The Last Supper”, and the play “The Now and Then Disciples”. Thirteen men from our church family will play the parts of the 12 disciples and Jesus. During the portrayal, in the Spirit Center, an abbreviated and symbolic (not a real meal) Seder will be served to all participates. The “Passover” celebration will end with holy communion being served by the disciples. The worship service will include the “Garden of Gethsemane” (in the sanctuary) where we will share the drama of the agony and betrayal of Christ. In conclusion, the cross will be veiled . Please call the church office (251-923-4393) for your reservation , which is required for the Seder meal.

Palm Sunday 2012

April 1, 2012, Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem to celebrate Passover. Join us as the children raise palms to signify the arrival of Jesus. The palms, blessed during the ceremony, will be burned after the service. Ashes from the palms will be preserved for the Ash Wednesday service next year. Palm Sunday is the day fro Christians to prepare our hearts for the agony of His passion and the joy of His Resurrection.
